Check out Ariel Levy's new book Female Chauvinist Pigs: Women and the Rise of Raunch Culture. According to a review by Erika Pluhar, Ph.D, MS "Ariel Levy presents a searing expose of the most recent American iteration of female sexuality. This is a culture that glorifies Paris Hilton and idealizes strippers and porn stars as the embodiment of what it means to be "sexy.
Levy introduces readers to the FCP culture through a discussion of the multi-million dollar video series Girls Gone Wild, which involves filming women who expose themselves for the camera. The problem, Levy contends, is that this celebration of "raunch" is supposed to to equate with female sexual liberation."
